Week Note Forty Two - Very late edition

Late eh?

We had a fun and interesting weekend involving the family. It had emotionally and physically drained us and it is only today (Wednesday) that we are regaining sense of normality(!) that I could write something.

Figma

After months of planning to learn new skills due to work being flat out busy, Figma was on the radar to learn and it is a really incredibly useful app to learn to design website and functionality can be built as reusable components, et al, also how to be dealing with templates from UX / Designers when building pages with collaborating tools.

Also, I have noticed an uptick in my mood when learning which was long overdue and getting a hunger to finally go through Wes Bos' ES6 Javascript course!

Book of Doom!

I have enjoyed reading reading Broadband - The Untold Story of the Women Who Made the Internet by Claire L. Evans and have been exploring the web from the 90s via Internet Archives. The next book currently being read is Masters of Doom about how Two Johns (Romero and Carmack) created the famous Commander Keen, Wolfenstein, Doom, and Quake. Insanely fun to read and crazy antics happened throughout their lives like breaking keyboards, chairs, monitors.. it is a wild book.

And finally...

2021 is nearly over with two months to go. I wonder if I ever have a brain left at this point!
